Getting the Blog Started

Thanks for checking out the blog. It's taken longer than planned to implement this part of our new office website, but hopefully better late than never. It's worth a minute to explain why I wanted to incorporate a blog into the overall revamp of the site. First, it allows for an extended discussion on specific topics that don't usually get much attention. Second, it allows for a new method of interaction among our office and the customers we serve. Third, it will help enlighten everyone about our duties, the laws and "why we do things they way we do". And finally, I hope it leads to good ideas and suggestions for ways to improve or implement new services. I have a few topics I want to address over time, and I'm looking forward to your suggestions and interaction as well. Look for periodic updates and thanks for reading.

Welcome to Our New Site!

Welcome to the new and improved website for the Perry County Clerk's office! We've been working on a redesign for several months. The former site was done in-house and became difficult to update. We not only have a new and improved look, but much more content and functionality, as well. We have several new on-line offerings. For example, you can now order your birth certificate on-line through the Illinois e-Pay system. In partnership with our land records vendor, we have instituted on-line access to our recording data base. We'll be updating our content more often and also expanding our on-line presence through use of this blog and our Twitter feed. I think these will be prove to be useful tools in updating the latest news without the hassle of a site update. If you have a Twitter account, be sure to follow us so you can get all the latest updates and news from our office. I'll also be using the blog to explain issues in more depth and answer questions you may have. In the mean time, look around and let us know what you think!
